Earlier this month, Remodista had a fabulous time at the Retail Innovation Conference (RIC), where we kicked off the event with a Retail Store Tour in Hudson Yards and looked at interesting business models and innovation in the front of the store and show rooms.
We also visited Brooks Brothers, B8TA, BATCHED, The Drug Store, Verizon, Lululemon, 3Den, Micro, and Neiman Marcus who take up the top 3 retail floors. The architecture piece to the right is called the Vessel, a crown jewel that people can walk up and down.
Lindsey Bleimes is an engineering director at Wayfair. Starting out with a career in the government in computer science, Lindsey made moves to get her MBA and now uses her skills in data science to build systems and tools, creating a more cohesive user experience for Wayfair, a global e-commerce company specializing in home goods. In this interview, Lindsey tackles the subject of taking risks in a constantly changing reality—a challenge that many experts in technology face.

Our HALO community has been in beta testing this past year, and we now have about 300 leaders participating. HALO's purpose is to educate brands, cultivate leaders, and connect globally looking at the future of business.
Our Women2Watch honorees have spoken at over 100 keynotes and panels around the world and in the US since we launched the program in 2016.
It's your turn.
Are you or someone you know an influential woman who is driving innovation in online and brick-and-mortar retail? Remodista is now accepting nominations for our 2019 Women2Watch in Business Disruption!
Nominations close on November 15. Members of our retail committee will reach out to nominees after the nomination period ends.
We're auctioning off the two Spirit of St. Jude award winner gift bags—each with a retail value worth over $2000.
All proceeds will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a leading children's hospital pioneering research and treatments for kids with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Because more than 75% of their funding comes from generous donors, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most — saving kids regardless of their financial situation.
This month, we're excited to feature Kayte Malik, founder and CEO of Dresscode Tech, in our Women2Watch spotlight! Kayte will be joining us in this year's Innovation Lab as one of the many forward-thinkers who have broken new ground with wearables, accessories, technology and solutions. Kayte's company, Dresscode Tech, is leveraging the world of fashion accessories to introduce girls to the world of coding. We can't wait to hear from Kayte and the other innovators in the iLab in New York on September 20th!
July was a busy month for Remodista and the retail community with Online Retailer’s 10th Anniversary happening in Sydney, Australia.
